Lasting design against throwawayism.

Mindmade design that is beautiful, multifunctional and lasts a lifetime –epitomised by the Alvar Aalto vases. Vessel also stocks Aino Aalto's modern classic tumblers and jugs. Designed in the 1930s, these versatile, space-saving designs have stood the test of time.

Taika means 'magic' in Finnish. In the Taika range, eight essential tableware forms meet the vivid imaginary world of illustrator Klaus Haapaniemi – owls, fox-tailed peacocks and deer inhabit his magical forest.

Products from the Iittala catalogue may be ordered.

Klippan

A Klippan wool blanket will find a place in every home – in the living room, bedroom or nursery. Many colours and styles, Swedish design, 100% NZ wool.

Rob Brandt

Inspired by the familiar plastic water cups, Rob Brandt has been making the 'crushed cup' since 1975.

The inspiration for his new 'jail house cup', he explains, came after visiting a hotel that was formerly a prison. "The cup is a fundamental piece of equipment for one of life's basic necessities and should be cherished for this. The hole in the saucer gives the mind the opportunity to escape. My advice ... open your mind and let us drink!"
